Vietnam Wins Us Over
October 24 - November 4, 2009

We flew in to Hanoi from Luang Prabang, Laos, and didn't know what to expect. However, our experience in Vietnam was incredible. It is the most stimlating place I've ever visited, as the crazy streets, filled with motorized vehicles of every kind, are so chaotic that visitors would need a death wish to jump on a bike, and nothing seems to stay still there for long. On the other hand, it is a place filled with beauty, kind people, and lots of history. I would have to say that this would be my favorite SE Asian country, as I liked it even more than I did Laos. Our journeys started in Hanoi, where we had a Halong Bay boat tour. Then we flew south to Ho Chi Minh City, from which we explored the Mekong Delta. We spent several days in the authentic little city of Cần Thơ, before heading to the armpit town of Châu Đốc to catch the boat that would take us on into Cambodia.
