For most pictures, I wanted to adopt a sort of gritty effect, to show the wear and tear of the area. I wanted to bring out the peeling paint, the porches hanging by threads, the streets lined with signs painted on the walls generations ago. I wanted to pull an era that has pretty much dissolved back into the pictures, the era of busy industry that today hides under the old buildings and streets.
