I drove up a road into a gully to find other mines, and found a few, including one that was simply a shaft that went into the mountain. Interestingly, it was only gated off, and I could look down into the darkness, into the rocky shaft, the disappearing tracks disappearing under the mountain. Standing there, I was only happy to be on the outside of that gate, instead of deep in the mountain.
