From there, I found myself mostly wondering out on these country roads, and I really started to figure that I was in the middle of BF Nowhere. Then all of the sudden, I start passing all these big Federal facilities--a big prison, a National Guard camp, and then found myself right at Butner, where the John Umstead State Mental Hospital is located. I had to do time in clinical there when I was in nursing school; just passing that place brings the hair up on my neck. Ever been in an aging crazy house? Yeah, it is like that. I had no idea that I currently live like 20 miles away from it. So, I turned around.
