At some point, I was sitting on a bench, in a very peaceful spot, just relaxing and enjoying the last moments of the day as the sun set. I was thinking about how different it will all look when I come back from Africa--fall will have arrived. I started taking some self-portraits, trying to take close pictures of my eyes in particular, to try to capture the fading light in them, to see my pupils illuminated by my last NC summer 2006 sunset.
